Product Description

The operetta Eine Nacht in Venedig (A Night in Venice) premiered in Berlin on 3 October 1883. As the performance in Berlin was a failure, the operetta was reworked for the first performance in Vienna. Strauss also changed parts of the overture, and the original Berlin version is very seldom played since then. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2025 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.
