Product Description

In his Quadrille Un ballo in maschera Johann Strauss jr. processed motifs from the opera by Giuseppe Verdi. With it he continued a tradition of quadrilles  based on motifs by other composers. It premiered on 21 December 1862 at Volksgarten in Vienna. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the  composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by  Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2017 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria.  A live recording of this concert is available at  https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/viva-litalia/ or  https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/viva-l-italia/hnum/10428716?iampartner=303&subid=umr12&ref=partner.jpc.de .
