Product Description

The Lagunen-Walzer (Lagoon Waltz) was written by Johann Strauss in 1883. It is based on motifs from the operetta "Eine Nacht in Venedig" (A Night in Venice) with the song "Ach, wie so herrlich zuschau'n, sind all die reizenden Frau'n" as main theme. It premiered on 4 November 1883 at the Concert Hall of the Vienna Musikverein conducted by Eduard Strauss. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Albert Schwarzmann on 23 May 2009 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria. Albert Schwarzmann later also arranged the little different version od this waltz with tenor solo. For more information and recordings visit: https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at
