Freuet euch des Lebens (Enjoy Life) was written by Johann Strauss Jr. for the inaugural ball of the Golden Concert Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. It premierd there on 15 January 1870 and also was dedicated to the Vienna Musikverein. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "New Year's Concert" on 6 January 2009 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria.
