Product Description
Here are six original pieces, using all the usual forms of the minor mode, as well as each time signature from 2/4 to 7/8. An excellent way to learn new repertoire, traditional American forms and some 21st century musical elements all at once! Every other piece uses the natural minor scale, which, in A minor, is all white keys. Not bad at all ! in between, there are examples of the melodic minor, ascending and descending, the harmonic minor, and the Dorian mode. March, NO accidentals other than the ones required to form the particular scale being used. Still not too bad
March, Waltz, Ballad, Ostinato, Hornpipe, and Theme, in 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8, and 7/8, respectively. One suite can use these related or incremental elements and still have variety within a limited musical range. An object lesson in economy of materials, American-style. Each piece runs less than 3 mins, except the ballad, which the only slow selection. Audio clip is the Hornpipe. MBB
