Product Description

Vincentwas written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh. "Starry Starry Night", is a reference to Van Gogh's painting The Starry Night, which was painted in June 1889, and depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise. Vincent believed that, 'Hope is in the stars,' but he had become disillusioned after his breakdown and stated, 'we take death to reach a star.' The song was created on the 100th anniversary of the midpoint of Van Gogh's life. It speaks directly to Vincent, 'how you suffered for your sanity.' This is a gentle arrangement for string quartet that shares the melodic material between all four players creating a dream-like atmosphere.
