Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) is a Don McLean classic that is so relaxing to play on the harp! Skills learned in this piece include right hand scales and cross-unders as well as accurate placing of longer overlapping brackets in the left hand. There are no lever changes! Based on one of Van Goghs most famous paintings, listen for how the patterns and melodies in this piece actually depict the wistful, calming nature of his work.

Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Late-beginner. The right hand consists mostly of 4-note scales and cross-unders. The left-hand has a repetitive pattern of overlapping brackets that require secure and accurate placing, along with some two-note chords throughout.

Type of Harp: C-C 22 string harps or larger.

Range: Lowest note is C one octave below middle C, highest note is B almost two octaves above middle C.

Levers/Pedals: In the key of G Major (levers needed: F#, BUT harps with no levers can tune all their F strings to F sharp). No lever changes in piece.
