Product Description
Continental Slope - Representative of a piece in Locrian for the With Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series of Cello Choir À La Mode, Continental Slope, in 5/8 and G Locrian (4 flats), sparks the imagination with images of what it might be like for creatures living on a Continental Slope. Reflective of the rest of the series, Continental Slope is a three-part piece for cello trio to cello choir. The cello 3 part is entirely in bass clef, requiring shifting with extensions, and different finger patterns on the C and G strings. The Cello 3 part could be played in first and lower second positions, using forwards and backwards extensions. With help to learn the key signature, the Cello 3 part could be played by Suzuki Volume 2 or above level cellists. Help to learn the key signature, and shifting up through Lower Third or Fourth Position could make the Cello 2 part accessible to Suzuki Volume 3 or above level cellists. The Cello 1 part spends considerable time in Tenor Clef, and requires use of the thumb in 4 flats, recommending the Cello 1 part to Suzuki Volume 8 or above level cellists.
This second series, the With Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series of Cello Choir À La Mode, is designed for the intermediate, advancing Cello Choir, and is generally more advanced than the No Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series. Similar to the No Sharps or Flats Key Signature Series, most pieces offer cellists of varying levels the opportunity to play together.
