Product Description
Esther - Representative of a piece in Dorian for the With Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series of Cello Choir À La Mode, Esther has a bit of Mediterranean flavor in 3/4 and 4/4. Reflective of the rest of the series, Esther is a three-part piece for cello trio to cello choir. As this series is for the advancing cello choir, Esther is provided in both A Dorian (1 sharp) and Ab Dorian (6 flats). The following part descriptions are for the easier A Dorian (1#) version. The Cello 3 part is entirely in bass clef, including extensions and fingerings for shifting up to and including upper third position, making it possible for Suzuki Volume 3 or above level cellists. The cello 2 part is written entirely in bass clef, including col legno technique and with fingering options including use of the thumb. By using the easier fingering options, the Cello 2 part could be accessible to Suzuki Volume 3(4) or above level cellists. The Cello 1 part goes into tenor and treble clefs, with notes ascending up to A5 in the solo part, recommending the Cello 1 part for Suzuki Volume 8 or above level cellists.
This second series, the With Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series of Cello Choir À La Mode, is designed for the intermediate, advancing Cello Choir, and is generally more advanced than the No Flats Or Sharps Key Signature Series. Similar to the No Sharps or Flats Key Signature Series, most pieces offer cellists of varying levels the opportunity to play together.
