Sketches on a French Carol (He is Born) for Concert Band, arranged by Bryan Kidd
Grade 2.5
Conductor and Parts

The birth of Jesus is easily understood in the light of a religious historical perspective that looks to the past. Even so, from our contemporary perspective one still marvels at the forbearance and patience of a people who, for centuries, looked forward to the prophetic fulfillment of the promised Messiah. No doubt, then, the joy of heaven and earth as the angel announced, "For unto you is born this day". So declares this 18th century French Christmas carol, Il Est Né (He Is Born).
