Product Description

Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" is part of a long tradition of Black American freedom songs.  It was first made popular in the 1960s by The Impressions and has been covered many times by artists such as Bob Dylan, Jeff Beck, Bob Marley and Rod Stewart.

Tabbed for mountain dulcimer in 1-5-8 or DAD tuning, this arrangement is relatively simple due to its repetitive nature.  The main challenge will be the syncopated rhythms found throughout the song.

The first two verses are tabbed in the key of D.  The last verse modulates to the key of G.  At that time, the arrangement makes use of the 1+ fret on the middle string.  You will not need a 1+ fret to play the first half of the song, which can stand alone by itself.

Intended for the advancing beginner/intermediate level player, the download includes tablature, standard musical notation, lyrics and guitar accompaniment chords.
