People Get Ready was released by Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions in 1965. The single had a significant impact on the civil rights movement.
I have included two versions of of this song for trombone quartet. The audio and video previews contain the advanced version.
The advanced version is in Eb and features a solo melody for the first trombone and an original solo for the fourth trombone.
The intermediate version is in Bb and uses the same rhythms and overall structure but contains just the solo melody for the first trombone.
Scores and parts for each version are included along with a poster containing 5 facts about Curtis Mayfield. This will come in handy when presenting the arrangement to your students or an audience.
