David Brian Williams has composed works for concert band, wind and chamber groups, choir, solo voice, opera, and multimedia works with audience participation.  Dr. Williams is emeritus professor of music and creative technologies at Illinois State University and has had his music performed by community and college musicians and ensembles.  Several of his works have been selected for music festivals like the Huntsville and the Red Note New Music Festivals.  His opera Likeweake based on Chamorro folklore was commissioned by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Insular Arts Councils of Guam. David enjoys his retirement by playing saxophone, clarinet and his WX-7 wind controller, composing and arranging music, promoting music technology and creativity within school music programs, and playing golf.
