Product Description

From very easy to advanced, this sheet music is for violinists from beginner to advanced. Learn how to play Silent Night with music that has all the violin notes. There are 3 verses in the piece and in this Silent Night transcription, all three verses are different. For beginners, the violinist should play the very easy first verse. For intermediate violinists, play the whole piece if you are comfortable up to 3rd position. For advanced level, play the whole piece including the double stops. There is voice violin harmony in the last verse. The voice can sing the main part continuously while the violin plays the harmony or the voice can follow the violin. If you are an advanced violinist, you can play both parts. It is like one of Bach's Partitas. This beloved Christmas Carol Silent Night has the melody and chords. There are 3 variations of the piece so that the listener and player will not get bored. The lyrics of the Silent Night were written by a German priest, Joseph Mohr, in 1816. While he was on a pilgramage to a church in Mariapfarr, Austria, he was inspired by the beauty of the snow covered mountains and valleys that he wrote a poem that described the setting and the birth of Christ. He presented his poem to his musical director, Franz Gruber in 1818, who wrote the melody for the guitar. An Episcopalian priest, John Freeman Young, translated the lyrics from German to English in 1859. This is the sheet music for voice, violin and piano transposed to the key of A and in 3/4 time. There are lyrics in this sheet music. With lyrics, chords, melody and harmony, I hope you like this rendition of Silent Night.
