Product Description

A Secular Oratorio for Mezzo-soprano soloist, SAB soloists/chamber group, SATB choir, Strings and one percussionist.
Nine movements. Duration 45 minutes.
This pdf file includes the vocal score, the choir score and the piano part, as well as some useful notes at the start.
The texts are 7 poems by Norwegian poet Rolf Jakobsen, in authorized English translation, and the message ultimately a declaration of love for our Earth and consequently perfect for concerts with the objective to express concern for our threatened environment.
The movements are:
1. It is blue
2. hush
3. fresh water
4. impovisation
5. Dream-ocean
6. Some
7. Wait for me
8. Your thoughts
9. But we live
The music writing is melodious and tonal (with some contemporary effects!) and this composition is suitable for both youth and other SATB choirs.
It has been very well received in Norway where it has been prformed but also received good reviews from USA where a recording of a concert was presented at radio stations. The attached mp3 file (of the last movement) is a converted Sibelius file.
