Product Description

The texts used in this composition are by poet Lesya Ukrainka, a highly loved and appreciated poet in her native a country - a country she loved so much that she actually changed her original name from Laryssa Kossach (1871-1913) to Ukrainka. Although these poems were written a hundred years ago, they poignantly express the same sentiments the country faces today My lack of knowledge of the Ukrainian language resulted in my using the English translation (details given in the score), hoping that they could also be useful to choirs and conductors who wish to express their solidarity with Ukraine.

This piece may be performed a cappella or accompanied by the piano, at the conductor's discretion. It has been performed to very positiv acclaim several times. The mp3 file provided here is made straight from the Sibelius file. The composer is a member of the Norwegian copyright org. TONO. For more information, please visit the website www.zlatanou.net
