Product Description

Quite simply, this could be the most beautiful three-and-a-half minutes of music ever composed.  Taken from a larger piece (The Enigma Variations), this is the 9th variation titled, "Nimrod," and it is often played on its own.  Here, we have an arrangement for string quartet that keeps all of the beauty and depth of the original, but in a much smaller version.

This is not a difficult arrangement at all, with only 4th position in the first violin part.  It could easily be played by an intermediate group.  It is also a terrific way to teach rubato and dynamics, two things that put a nice cherry on top of this excellent music.  This would be a good way to give a little breather to an audience at a chamber music concert, or a poignant piece of reflection at a more serious event.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
