Product Description
This is a version of the final portion of Edward Elgars The Dream of Gerontius, Op.38., arranged for mezzo-soprano and string quartet. I have added, as an introduction, the chorus and orchestral section just prior to "The Angels Farewell," i.e., this version begins at rehearsal 125 and goes through the end of the work.
This version captures the richness of melody, color, and expressive warmth the original work, while allowing for a small-ensemble performance.
Please note: This version is for
VOICE and STRING QUARTET; the string quartet accompanies the vocal soloist.
If you wish a version for only string quartet, where the vocal line is incorporated into the string parts, I have made that version available separately. Please see Elgar: Angels Farewell (Arr. Diehnelt, for String Quartet)
