Product Description

"As Vesta was from Latmos Hill Descending" is a six-part madrigal by Thomas Weelkes (c. 1575 1623), one of Englands finest composers.   Adapted for SSATTB recorders from a facsimile of Madrigals: The Triumphs of Oriana (1601) which honors Queen Elizabeth I. The goddess Vesta descends a hill and spots the maiden Queen ascending; Vestas entourage leaves her to entertain the Queen and sing her praises.

Score and individual parts, plus notes with lyrics. A great example of word painting, this madrigal is enjoyable to play and is appreciated by audiences. Good for ensembles, recorder orchestras, workshops, and recorder society meetings.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
