The fourth movement, "Notturno" from Edward Grieg's, Lyric Pieces, Op. 54, available in this arrangement for string orchestra. Griegs Nocturne is a serene and lyrical piano piece that beautifully captures the calm and introspective mood of nightfall. The instrument numbers for the ensemble has been based on 4 first violins, 4 second violins, 3 violas, 2 cellos and 1 double bass, however, it would be suitable for any string orchestra formation. More players for the second violins and violas would be beneficial to avoid any awkward double stopping.
