A sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann Snowball. See text below:
The anointed Son from heavn, Who volunteered in love,
Would kneel alone with his own power, God watching from above.
The appointed time would come, No human eye could see,
That in this sacred, mortal place All men could be set free.
He would drink the bitter cup Which only He could do.
This grudging, sharp, and biting task Requird an angels view.
Through the Saviors love for all, Hed bleed and die for man.
Descending for all human life Would fill his Fathers plan.
Groanings in Gethsemane, Cries at (on) Calvary
Would redeem Gods precious souls With sure victory.
Reconciliations cause, Conquering all sin,
Would assure a unity And a glorious win.
The anointed Son from heavn Fulfilled all righteousness.
Coming down to earthly woes, He bore all selfishness.
Idle thoughts were never His, For Gods will was supreme.
Hed listen and obey like none Throughout eternity.
Lo, this perfect Son from heavn, Who volunteered in love,
Atoned with flawless, glorious light, And faith in God above.
He became our one sure Source Of peace forever more.
His pain and torture cleansed our souls Through blood from every pore.
Groanings in Gethsemane, Cries at (on) Calvary
Did redeem our very souls With sure victory.
The anointed Son of God Fell below all things.
Now we rise with healing gifts From the love He brings.
