Destruction cried out, then darkness obeyed;
No sliver of light was displayed.
Etched scorn and pure shame restrained rays of sun;
Sure death of the Savior was won!
He died! He died! His Fathers will done;
Sweet Jesus had bravely succumbed.
Three days in the tomb, then victory reigned-
Our Savior came forth from the grave!
His body combined with spirit, unscathed;
In transcending light He was bathed!

In triumph all glory combines.
