A Christmas song for vocal solo. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Lyrics by Mary Ann Snowball. See text below:
When the angel Gabriel Departed Marys side
She proceeded with great haste, so wanting to abide
With Elizabeth who, too, Was blessed with heavnly child.
Then when Mary came to her, On each they could rely.
Marys salutation there Did cause the babe to leap,
And Elizabeth was filled With Spirit so complete.
Her son, John, before his birth, Bore witness of the One,
Learning that sweet Mary was The mother of Gods Son.
John became the first to know This truth, before Christs birth,
Of the Savior coming down, Sent down from heavn to earth.
He would manifest with proof, Preparing every day;
He would teach and testify That Jesus is the Way.
For these special mothers then God kept his wondrous plan,
Comforting to reassure Throughout their mortal span.
In their blood-line they were merged; And in their missions too:
Bearing such a prophet then, And a Son so true.
Mary and Elizabeth Relied on each to hold
Promises from God above With blessings to unfold.
They revealed companionship, True sisterhood they found,
And to all the world they gave Two sons forever bound.
