'Twas the night
before New Years and all through the towns,
People were
cheering, jumping up and down;
They stood in
anticipation to watch a ball drop,
Or exclaimed in
amazement as fireworks popped.
What happens next,
as a new year begins?
Will people be
more loving? Repent of their sins?
A blank calendar
now opens__months, weeks and days__
Will we draw
closer to Jesus and follow His ways?
Thats the way to
make this a truly Happy New Year,
So may we all
resolve to fill it with good cheer,
And all anger and
fighting immediately cease,
That at last well
have a time of good will and peace.
