Handcart pioneers out on the
plains, pounded by winters early snow,
Man and animal, worn and thin,
stranded with no strength to go.
Word came to the prophet; he did
not delay,
Food, clothing, and wagons were
sent out the next day.
"Go to the rescue, bring them all
in
To the safety of Zion, your kith
and your kin;
None shall be left alone on the
plain,
Service is needed or your faith is
in vain."
A prophet today calls for our
rescuing hand
To reach out to others, across many
lands
To those pounded by trials,
depression, and sin,
"Off to the rescue; bring them all
in.
To the spiritually starving, bring
life with true Bread,
In holy temples save both living
and dead.
As the Savior has rescued each of
us from the Fall,
We become like Him
when we rescue all."
