Sun Figment (2002) cortege-chorale for solo harp was written for Musik Fabrik and is
dedicated to Jean-Thierry Boisseau.
This work incorporates both elements of a cortege (ceremonial procession) and a chorale.
Chorale and cortege ideas are juxtaposed throughout. The first part of the work presents a
veiled and dark harmonic area. The second part of the work takes the same material and recasts
and develops it in the context of harmonies that grow ever warmer and brighter.
