Written for Duo Reencontros (Sofia Brito, oboe, and Ingrid Sotolarova, piano), this piece is a reimagining of my Trio Sonata, Op. 19, which featured an extensive English horn solo.

It marks a turning point in my journeyfrom a self-taught composer to formally studying compositionand was the work that earned me a composer residency with the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra.

After the tragic passing of oboist Samuel Bastos, I returned to this solo with the intention of giving it a new life. This piece stands as both a tribute and a transformationan elegy that breathes anew.
