Product Description

Many a pop song has been 'inspired' by Baroque's biggest hit and most recognisable chord progression; Pachelbel's Canon. Known as 'Canon in D', this arrangement is in F for vocal range! Part of a #PopMashUp and #PopLayerUp series, who doesn't love a partner song? With this you get over 12 options to try! Designed to be experimented with as a confidence building, brain stretching vocal warm-up, or a quick-win fun filler song.

With up to eight parts, the possibilities are endless as how to divide your singing group to build and layer. Play around with a few parts, or all eight to see which combinations you like best! (There's actually 10 distinct parts if you include the 'Ending'). Teach the 'Ending' first so you have a good way to round things off when you've had enough fun! If experimenting with multiple pop elements as mini 'partner songs', suggest including at least Canon 1 or 2 as a solid foundation to help keep time.

Example with four groups: Give each group an 'anchor' Canon part and assign each group a pop element too. Build up or start the Canon together and then switch groups in and out from their Canon to pop element in 8-bar cycles.
Example for brain bending challenge: Assign each group a part (or teach them all) and create a human loop machine, leader chooses two or more groups to sing a specific part to see how all the different combinations feel and sound together. Certain rhythm and note pairings will be more challenging than others!

Most of all, have fun!
