Product Description

The anonymous tune DAPHNE, (also known as Hit and Miss) was a great favourite in Elizabethan times, appearing in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (c.1612, with variations by Giles Farnaby) and in Giles Earles Song-book (1626).

As a song, the lyric tells the story of the ancient Greek myth regarding Apollos pursuit of the nymph Daphne, who escaped only by turning herself into a tree.I have arranged it here for recorder quintet (or ensemble):
descant - treble - tenor - bass - great bass
The great bass can be replaced by contrabass.
Score and all parts

Duration: 3:21
