Product Description

Music by John Philip Sousa. Arranged for clarinet choir with the following instrumentation:

Eb Soprano Clarinet
1st Bb sSoprano Clarinet
2nd Bb Soprano Clarinet
3rd Bb Soprano Clarinet
4th Bb Soprano Clarinet
Eb Alto Clarinet
Bb Bass Clarinet
Eb Contra Alto Clarinet
* Alternate part: Eb Contra Bass Clarinet

Notes:
1)The 4th and Eb Alto Clarinet parts are doubles (they are essentially the same notes). Having both helps this voice to be heard vs the other parts. Adjust dynamics of other parts so these parts can be heard when they carry the melodic line.

2)The Alternate part, Eb Contra Bass Clarinet, is provided if there is no Eb Contra Alto Clarinet. Or, use both parts if both instruments are available. You can never have enough low basses in my opinion.

3. Sousa wrote in the melodic line from "Auld Lang Syne" in the TRIO and final strain sections. Somewhat of a surprise, but this march could be an effective selection to include in a program for a Winter Holiday /New Year type concert.
