This piece was composed for the 14th annual concert of the True Love Youth Choir at Munjeong Cathedral in Seoul in 2008. It was also performed by the Myeong-dong Cathedral Eli Youth Choir at the Concert of New Sacred Music by the Korean Catholic Composers Association on June 13, 2009. Composed Karl Kang, a prominent composer of Korean Catholic music, while he was relatively young, this rendition of the Hail Mary is noted for its strong lyrical beauty and is relatively easy to perform. As a result, it is widely sung in Catholic churches across Korea.
