Product Description

Soon after coming to America in 1893, Antonin Dvorak wrote his Symphony No. 9 (From The New World). This piece "Goin' Home" is actually the theme from the 2nd Movement Largo. This haunting melody is so stunningly beautiful that one of Dvorak's students wrote lyrics to the music and published the song in 1922. People have always speculated as to what was the inspiration for Dvorak's original theme? A Czech folk tune? A Spiritual? A gospel hymn? A lullaby? No, it was something new - The New World.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
