Dvorak, both a violinist and composer, grew up in Bohemia and later worked for a time in the US. Some of his compositions, such as this one, successfully combine American and Bohemian influence. This arrangement for 3 violins and viola is of the slow movement from his most popular symphony, From the New World written in 1893.
