Product Description

It is the composer's most popular piece. The work, premiered in Paris on January 24, 1875, depicts Death playing the violin at midnight. To its rhythm, skeletons dance around a grave. At dawn, with the crowing of the rooster, the dead return to their graves.

This arrangement for solo violin, string orchestra, and harpsichord allows this work to be performed in different venues and formats; the harpsichord could be played by a piano or a keyboard with a harpsichord sound as deemed appropriate by the ensemble.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
