Product Description
Carnival of the Animals is a delightful collection of music - fun to play and even more fun to listen to. Each movement captures a different animal, each with its own theme, character, and instrumental color.
However, we dont often hear this piece performed live. Why? Because of its unique size. The ensemble is too small for a full symphony orchestra, yet too large for most chamber music groups. Imagine the cost and complexity of hiring the musicians and coordinating rehearsal schedules and venue with 2 pianos!
It would be wonderful if children (and of course, adults too!) could still enjoy this music in a more intimate setting - without sacrificing musical quality.
This arrangement offers two flexible options: a piano trio (violin, cello, and piano), or an expanded version with the addition of a clarinet (Cuckoo, Aviary, Fossils and Finale). You can choose the version that best fits your budget and available performers. Also, The Hemiones (for solo piano), Elephant and Swan (for cello and piano) and Long-ear character (for solo violin) are attached for musicians convenience.
Special thanks to Trio Oriens in Houston, TX, for performing this arrangement in their 2023 concerts and toy drive. The kids loved it!
