"Bunker Hill" is a fantasy for Wind Band. It draws its musical themes from three colonial war tunes: "Bunker Hill" (Why Should Vain Mortals) by Nathaniel Niles; "Chester" (Let Tyrant Shake Their Iron Rods) by William Billings; and "The British Grenadiers." The piece makes heavy use of less conventional modes (aeolian and lydian), and dissonance to convey impressions of the battle.
