The lyrics are based on Matthew 16:24 from the Gospel of Matthew. This song can be sung as a hymn for the feast of martyrs or any martyr's commemoration. It was first introduced at the "2023 Sacred Music Choral Symposium" organized by the "Catholic Sacred Music Academy" in Seoul, South Korea.
