Product Description

Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) is a Don McLean classic that is so relaxing to play on the harp! Skills learned in this piece include quick placing of right hand shapes, some syncopation, a few lever changes, and recurring left-hand overlapping brackets. If you learn this piece with the video course, youll get valuable advice on how to intertwine the right hand and left hand melodies to make it sound as wistful and effortless as Van Goghs original painting of Starry, Starry Night.

Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Mid-intermediate. The right-hand consists of scales, cross-unders, and quick placing of shapes. The left hand largely consists of 4-finger long-overlapping brackets and rolled chords. There is some syncopation as well as a few lever changes.

Type of Harp: 34 string lever harps or larger. Small harp version of sheet music available for small harps (26 strings).

Range: For big harp: Lowest note is D one and a half octaves below middle C, highest note is D just over two octaves above middle C. For small harp: Lowest note is D almost one octave below middle C, highest note is D just over two octaves above middle C.

Levers/Pedals: In the key of G Major (levers needed: F#, BUT harps with no levers can tune all their F strings to F sharp). Several E flat lever changes.

What's Included: PDF download of 4 pages. Fingering and bracketing are included.
