History:
This arrangement provides a long-awaited opportunity to introduce the very youngest pianist to melodies composed by women in the time period usually associated with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Wilhelmine von Bayreuth was born Princess Wilhelmine of Prussia, the daughter of Frederick William I of Prussian and Sophia Dorothea of Hanover. She was a lutenist and composed opera as well as chamber music. She and her husband Frederick Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth ushered in a style of architecture at their estate that became known as Bayreuth-Rococo.
