Detailed Description:
Concerto for Harpsichord and Strings in G Minor by Baroque composer Wilhelmine von Bayreuth. 18th century. German Baroque. Historic women composers. Classical piano repertoire for the earliest beginner.

Arranged by Eleanor Aversa, former piano faculty at Settlement Music School and now composition faculty at the Berklee College of Music. Visit her website: https://eleanoraversa.com

This is a primer level arrangement in the key of A minor and serves as an introduction to women composers of the Baroque period. 4/4 time signature. 18 measures. Right hand is in a 5-finger, middle C position. Left hand is in a 5-finger position one note below middle C. Quarter notes, half-notes and whole notes.

Technique:
Long tied notes are introduced. 5 finger scales. Two accidentals. There is also a Level 1 Elementary arrangement of this piece, slightly longer and using eighth notes.

History:
This arrangement provides a long-awaited opportunity to introduce the very youngest pianist to melodies composed by women in the time period usually associated with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Wilhelmine von Bayreuth was born Princess Wilhelmine of Prussia, the daughter of Frederick William I of Prussia and Sophia Dorothea of Hanover. She was a lutenist and composed opera as well as chamber music. She and her husband Frederick Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth ushered in a style of architecture at their estate that became known as Bayreuth-Rococo.
