The work is less than 8 minutes long.  It recreates the menace and thrills of Holst's piece in a range suitable for competent choral singers.  Performance will require at least two of each SATB, a percussionist and a pianist.
The lyrics introduce foreboding at the approach of war, the preparations, the excitement and fears of engagement, the chaos of battle, the reality of horrific casualties, and asks the final question.
