Product Description

This transcription was written preserving the essence and creativity of the original piece written for wind band, ideal for the 4th of July holiday and other patriotic celebrations, due to the fact that it is considered "the second national anthem of the United States". It can be played by intermediate students as well as teachers and music professionals on the occasions of recitals and concerts. This became traditional at Sousa Band concerts.
The sight of Sousa conducting his own great band in this, his most glorious composition, always triggered an emotional response. The piece was expectedand sometimes openly demandedat every concert of the Sousa Band. Many former Sousa Band members have stated that they could not recall a concert in which it was not played, and that they too were inspired by looking into the misty eyes of those in the audience.
