Product Description

This chart was commissioned by Pacific Standard Time (CSU Long Beach) to celebrate the life of vocalist and creative force Al Jarreau. Al composed this song and performed it quite a bit live, although it is not one of more well known songs (view a live performance on YouTube). Set in a catchy 6/8 feel, the song features Als trademark vocal patter over an adventurous harmonic progression. This arrangement gives an opportunity for your talented tenor to shine, and the chorus features a trio over top of the full choir. There is an open section for soloing, and a fun surprise at the end!

Vocal range: Sop up to G5 (opt. A5/E6), Alto down to F3, Tenor up to Ab4, Bass down to A2 (opt. D2)
Included: vocal score, piano part, bass part, rhythm score, solo/trio vocal score.

Demo: Live performance by Pacific Standard Time from CSU Long Beach (Christine Guter, director) as premiered on the main stage of the Jazz Education Network Conference.

Individual part tracks & backing track available at anchormusic.com/product/fly-mfm/.
