The justly famed suite of Mussorgsky about the paintings of Victor Hartmann was originally composed for piano solo. The orchestral versions are better known. The music has yet to be widely performed on the organ, however. Here is an opportunity to play the grandest finale ever composed, on the King of Instruments. We have given a registration suggestion for a small but capable organ prototype. Dynamic considerations and single notes versus chords are our main point of distinction here, when using your own judgment as to the specific of your own instrument. Manual placement is also indicated. Our MID sample does NOT reflect either the real dynamics OR any proposed registration, samples being limited in their scope. Pedal part is quite playable, and the manuals are designed for as much smoothness and uninterrupted grandeur as possible. MBB
