Product Description

"Air for the Savages" is a rondo first composed by Rameau in 1725 as part of his opera "Les Indes galantes". He later reused the piece in orchestral and keyboard suites. The reason for the works popularity can be discerned instantly upon hearing the invigorating rhythmic motifs that drive the rondo to its conclusion. String players love this piece-and why should they have all the fun? The lower flute parts are largely doubled in the piano providing learning support for the second and third players in an educational setting. The work also makes a great wedding recessional-provided the mother of the bride has a sense of humour about the title! This arrangement for flute ensemble/choir with piano is suitable for a mixed ability group containing harder and easier parts within the difficulty category.
