The comedy The Married Beau, or the Curious Impertinent was composed in 1694 by Purcell. Its libretto was written by John Crowne, who is believed to have written it from an episode from Miguel Cervantes' novel Don Quixote. Purcell's theatre music consists of nine movements, out of which most notable are Hornpipe on a Ground and this March.
