Product Description
These trumpet fanfares are the prelude to Gabriel Faure's 1888 incidental music for Alexandre Dumas' dramatic play Caligula and evoke with open fifths musical images of approaching marching Roman Empire soldiers. The fanfares work equally well for B-flat or C trumpets; two versions are included, one for three trumpets as originally scored, and another for two trumpet trios scored antiphonally to enhance a dramatic musical impact. Beyond brass ensemble programs or special ceremonies, these evocative fanfares can add an exciting and memorable opening to band or orchestra concerts featuring the trumpet section. The entire edition has an audio file.
