Product Description

When a generous donor gave our youth choir a set of handchimes, the first thing Maestro said was "You gotta teach them CAROL OF THE BELLS!" This choir of 7 or 8 started from scratch in September and has already performed twice in church!  The key for beginners is chords and consistent rhythm. The handbell/handchime part for this beautiful Christmas piece involves either a single note or one chord per measure. We count measures slowly in rehearsal and increase our speed after each time. They catch on very quickly!  The melody is in the flute part, and the whole thing sounds great after just a couple of rehearsals. Permission is granted to make as many copies as necessary for choir and flutist. Key of F, four pages (two for bell choir, two for flutist). Since ability levels vary, tempo and dynamics are left to the discretion of the director.
