Product Description
This is an arrangement for full brass band. It has a number of features and passes the melody and countermelodies around the band.
A strange thing happened when I was writing it in that a chorale melody imposed itself on the tune (at letter E) quite out of the blue. This is similar to "Nun Danket", but there are differences. I felt compelled to keep it harmonised in a chorale style. It appears again at the end as the carol fades into the distance.
Issues. The tempo needs to be very strictly kept to what I have written. Effectively, after the opening, it is 'one-in-a-bar'.
[Update] After rehearsing this with my band, I have simplified the notation so it is all in 3/4. A steady one-in-a-bar with the syncopation representing, perhaps, the hooves of the Kings' camels as they plod through the desert.
