Product Description

Overture to HMS Pinafore by Sir Arthur Sullivan Arranged for Brass Quintet by Jari Villanueva

A great setting of the overture from the Gilbert and Sullivan hit operetta HMS Pinafore.
Score, 2 Trumpets in Bb, Horn in F, Trombone and Tuba

"H.M.S. Pinafore" or "The Lass That Loved a Sailor" is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by W. S. Gilbert. It opened at the Opera Comique in London, on 25 May 1878 and ran for 571 performances, which was the second-longest run of any musical theatre piece up to that time. H.M.S. Pinafore was Gilbert and Sullivan's fourth operatic collaboration and their first international sensation. This arrangement for brass quintet captures the spirit of the music of Sir Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900)

A student of Bill Holcombe, Jari continues writing for different ensembles. Many of his arrangements can be found on Sheet Music Plus. He is a 2016 Sheet Music Plus Arranging Contest winner.
